与兔子有关的词语、成语、俗语之英译

由于汉语与英语存在语言或文化上的差异，所以在将汉语中带有“兔”的词语、成语、俗语译成英语时，最首要的任务是在译入汉语中找准对应词，决不能见到“兔”就译成和，而应根据具体的语境来选择对应词，掌握特殊的习惯表达法，同时注意翻译方法的灵活使用，排除文化因素的障碍，只有这样，才能在汉英翻译时，修辞恰当，译文准确。

1、          玉兔------the rabbit in the moon

2、          兔唇---（医）harelip

3、          兔狲---（动）steppe cat

4、          兔脱---（书）run away like a hare/escape/flee

5、          兔崽子---（骂）brat; bastard

6、          兔死狗烹---

the hounds are killed for food once all the hares are begged ;

cook the hound when the hares have been run down;

when the hares die, the dogs are killed and boiled;

slay the lackeys when they have outlived their usefulness;

trusted aides are eliminated when they have outlived their usefulness;

7、          兔死狐悲---the fox is sad at death of hare;

       the fox mourns over the death of the hare;

       sympathy for one of its kind;

      like grieves for like;

      like mourns over the death of like

8、          狡兔三窟---

a wily hare has three burrows;

a crafty person has more than one hideout;

9、          兔子不吃窝边草---

a rabbit doesn’t foul its own hole;

a rabbit doesn’t eat the grass near its own hole(so that it will be protected);

a villain doesn’t harm his next-door neighbour

10、     兔子尾巴长不了---（贬）

the tail of a rabbit can’t be long / won’t last long
