一、教材分析
本课是新标准英语一起十二册第七模块的第一单元，主要描述杨利伟乘神州五号到太空的大事件。学生在四年级已经学习使用一般过去时描述过去发生的事情,本课将在原有基础上再次巩固使用一般过去时的用法。
二、学情分析
本节课是面向六年级学生，他们对英语学习有较浓的兴趣，并且有一定的英语学习基础和良好的学习习惯。而本节课的话题又是学生感兴趣的，因此本课主要是在学生已有的知识基础上，提高他们的综合语言运用能力。
三、教学目标
（一）语言知识目标
1. 掌握四会单词“spend, excited, proud, video”
2. 掌握目标语句：He spent about 21 hours in space.
In October 2003, Shenzhou V flew into space.
He wanted to go into space.

3. 掌握一般过去时的用法
（二）语言技能目标
1. 能运用目标语句描述大事件。
2. 能运用一般过去时谈论过去发生的事情。
（三）情感态度目标
1. 通过本课的学习，培养学生热爱祖国的情感。
2. 让学生体会到通过自己的努力，终将实现自己的梦想，为国争光。
3. 培养学生的团队精神、协作能力。
四、教学重、难点
1. 掌握四会词、句和短语
2. 掌握动词的过去式，并能正确运用一般过去时谈论过去发生的事情。

Step1. Warming up
1. Greeting：
2. Warmer:
1) Enjoy a song < Look up at the spaceship>
T: I’m very excited now. Are you excited? 教授单词excited----exciting
Let’s compare them and do the exercise.

3. Are you _______about going to Beijing?
2) Free talk T: Look, what’s this? Ss：Spaceship.
T: The name of the spaceship is Shenzhou V.
（设计意图：歌曲律动，营造轻松的英语学习环境，并自然地引入“spaceship”）
Step2. Presentation
1. Show the pictures talk about Yang Liwei.
T: Who is he? Ss: Yang Liwei.
T: Can you talk about him? Talk about him in groups.
T: Here are some pieces of information about him. Let’s look: (师生交流)
（设计意图：以小组合作的方式，共同交流杨利伟的信息，使学生更好地了解本课的人物背景）
